The Documentary

The award-winning short documentary VOLUNTAD & PAZ tells the story of three ex-convicts struggling with their freedom after spending years in some of the most violent prisons of Venezuela.

YADIRA SILVA is one of the subjects featured in the 2012 award-winning documentary. Silva’s story of loss and redemption through writing is highlighted throughout the 24 minute film.

Journalist and filmmaker CARLOS P. BELTRAN, was immediately taken with Silva’s writing and encouraged the collaboration that, more than a decade later, would result in IT SUDDENLY OCCURRED TO ME, the book.

The full-length documentary is only screened during in-person talks and exhibits with the authors.
